We continue to the Basilica of Guadalupe, where you will see the original cloak of Saint Juan Diego bearing the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Afterwards, we head to the archaeological site of Teotihuacán, whose name means “place where men become gods.” Here, you will visit the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, the Quetzal-Butterfly Palace, and the Temple of the Feathered Serpent (Quetzalcóatl), and walk along the Avenue of the Dead.

DAY 3 (Oct 30) CITY TOUR / XOCHIMILCO
Breakfast. We begin the day exploring the oldest metropolis in the Americas—founded over 650 years ago as Mexico-Tenochtitlan. Today, Mexico City is a vibrant, ever-evolving living museum, the most populated city in the continent, offering visitors an unparalleled cultural, historical, culinary, and leisure experience.
Accompanied by our guide, we will begin our walking tour at the extraordinary Palace of Fine Arts, continuing along Madero Street through the Colonial Historic Center until reaching the Constitution Square, better known as the Zócalo. We will visit the magnificent Metropolitan Cathedral and enjoy panoramic views of the Templo Mayor and the National Palace.
We then head south to Xochimilco, one of the most colorful and picturesque areas of the city, famous for its canals filled with trajineras (brightly painted, flower-adorned boats). During a 2-hour ride, you may enjoy a traditional Mexican lunch (not included) and live mariachi or trio music (extra cost). Return to your hotel. Overnight stay.
DAY 4 (Oct 31) MEXICO CITY / MORELIA + MARIGOLD FIELDS + CITY TOUR IN MORELIA
Breakfast. In the morning, we depart Mexico City bound for Morelia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most beautiful colonial cities in Mexico.
We will visit the marigold (cempasúchil) fields in Tarímbaro. The marigold is the symbolic flower of Mexico’s Day of the Dead celebrations. Its vibrant color and fragrance make it an essential element of every altar.
The word cempasúchil comes from the Nahuatl “Cempohualxochitl,” meaning “twenty flowers” or “many flowers.” Our ancestors associated its golden color with the sun, placing paths of marigolds from the main road to the altar to guide the souls of the departed back to their offerings.
Check-in at the hotel. Free time for lunch (not included).
At 4:00 pm, we’ll begin our city tour of Morelia, including visits to the Cathedral, Government Palace, Plaza de Armas, the impressive Aqueduct (built in 1790, with over 250 arches, nearly 30 feet high and 2 km long), the Tarascas Fountain, and the Morelos Monument. Overnight stay.
DAY 5 (Nov 1) PURÉPECHA NIGHT VIGIL
Breakfast. In the morning, we’ll participate in a unique mask workshop introducing us to Purépecha traditions.
At 6:30 pm, departure from Morelia to Santa Fe de la Laguna, where we’ll tour beautiful altars and offerings.
Dinner will be prepared by Berenice, a traditional Purépecha cook. We will then visit a mezcal distillery in the community of Oponguio for a tasting of this traditional spirit.
The night continues with visits to two cemeteries—Puácuaro and Arocutin—where the doors are opened for us to witness and share the magic of the Night of the Dead (recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity). You will mingle with locals, experience the tradition, and immerse yourself in the flavors, sounds, and spirituality unique to this celebration on the shores of Lake Pátzcuaro.
At around 1:00 am, we return to our hotel in Zirahuén. Approximate arrival: 1:40 am. Overnight stay.
DAY 6 (Nov 2) CATRINA WORKSHOP & CATRINA FAIR

Here, you will participate in a catrina clay workshop, learning how to create these iconic figures. Free time for lunch (not included).
